Sea-Line joins trade association ICOMIA

We are pround to join ICOMIA as a Sustaining Member.

ICOMIA is the international trade association representing the global marine industry since 1966. ICOMIA brings together marine industry associations from across the world in one global organisation and represents them at international level, presenting a strong and united voice when dealing with issues challenging the industry.

Main reason why we are joining ICOMIA is the fact that the chemical industry where we operate is facing with dynamical changes in regulations of EU and regulations of individual countries. Sometimes directives are contradictory or difficult to interpret. We hope that with the support of the chamber we will be able to keep up with them and be ahead of them enough to offer our customers a safe and sustainable product. We are looking forward to synergy of community of yachting paints and chemicals producers.

Why the resin does not harden?

Possible causes

  • Too low temperature of ambitne,
  • Incorrect proportion of base and herdener,
  • Mixing two components from two different manufacturers

How to prevent

  • Apply the correct proportions of components
  • Maintain steady temperature (around 20ﹾC) during whole hardening process,
  • Mix the products thoroughly and bleed the mixture.

How to remove

  • The uncured mass requires complete removal from the surface.

Is it necessary to always sand the surface between application of two different products?

We recommend to always sand the surface between applying two different products to ensure uniform surface roughness and adhesion of subsequent layers. The sanded surface should also be cleaned and degreased.

Can I use yacht paints for a drinking water tank?

Sea-Line yacht paints are designed for painting the surface of boats and yachts made of various materials, e.g. laminate, wood or steel. We do not have a certificate of the National Institute of Hygiene, which would allow the use of yacht paint to paint the tank with drinking water.
