Product description "C4 Teak Cleaner"

C4 restores color and leaves no residue (as opposed to acidic products). The modern concentrate formula allows you to easily obtain the appropriate concentration of the agent and immediately and effectively remove all types of contamination from the surface.

Also is safe for sealant joints.

Surface preparation

  • Clean the surface with water to remove sand and stones.
  • Before cleaning the wooden surface with C4 Teak Cleaner, thoroughly wet the surface to absorb the water.
  • Dilute C4 Teak Cleaner with water in the following ratio:
    • 1:20 for moderate soiling
    • 1:10 for heavy soiling
  • Remove dirt by moving along the grain of the wood using a soft brush.
  • For very dirty surfaces, leave the cleaner on the application site for 5 to 15 minutes, without allowing it to dry.
  • Remove dirt and residue with clean water, rinsing the surface thoroughly.

Further work:

  • After drying, protect the surface with O1 TEAK OIL.

    STEP BY STEP – Sea-Line®  C4 Teak Cleaner

    How to restore wood ?

    Wood, over time, may start to look like in the picture below. It can easily and quickly be restored. C4 Teak Cleaner can be used on all kinds of wood used in boatbuilding. C4 is recommended also as a compound cleaning wooden elements (benches, tables, balustrades or entresols) in a household.

    STEP 1 – Soak the surface

    Before you start cleaning, soak the surface thoroughly  and let it absorb water.

    STEP 2 – Prepare Sea-Line C4 Teak Cleaner

    Thin Sea-Line C4 Teak Cleaner with water at a ratio of:

    • 1:10 for heavy contaminants
    • 1:20  for average contaminants

    STEP 3 – Wood cleaning

    Leaving C4 Teak Cleaner on the surface max. 15 minutes before starting the cleaning, will make it easier to clean it efficiently. C4 Teak Cleaner should not dry out on the surface after application.

    Using a soft brush, remove contaminants moving along the growth rings.

    STEP 4 – Rinse

    Removed  contaminants and the product residues, rinse abundantly with water. Do not let contaminants dry out on the cleaned surface.

    STEP 5 – Efect after first cleaning

    If necessary, fragments which were not cleaned for the first time due to high contamination and require more thorough cleaning, should be cleaned again.

    STEP 6- Secure

    After drying, wood can be secured with teak oil.

    Can I paint a boat, previously painted with 1 component paint, with polyurethane?

    Possible causes

    • Incorrect proportion of base and herdener,
    • Too low temperature of ambient and surface (less than 10ﹾC),
    • Mixing two components from two different manufacturers,

    How to prevent

    • Apply the correct proportions of components
    • Maintain steady temperature (around 20ﹾC) during the whole hardening process,
    • Use base and hardener from the same manufacturer

    How to remove

    • The uncured mass requires complete removal from the surface.
