We are happy to share with you good news. Gelcoat Filler DRY FAST was nominated for award YACHTING PRODUCT OF THE YEAR by most popular Polish sailing magazine “Żagle (Sails).

Gelcot filler DRY FAST is the product which had premiere in January 2017. This innovative product allows for easy and fast repair scratches on gelcoat.

What make new product so great?

  • Convenient application: the hardener is a paste, and the hardener in the old product was a liquid
  • Speed of repair: curing time is only 4 hours where the previous version needed a minimum of 12 or 24 hours
  • Possibility to match the color to damage: the filler is available in two colors: snow white RAL 9010 and cream white RAL 9001

Can I add more hardener to speed up the reaction?

Do not add more hardener, because after the base has cured, the remaining hardener will react with subsequent layers, which will be applied to the surface and cause defects. For the product to work properly, please follow the proportions given by the manufacturer.

Why despite the use of antifouing paint the bottom of the boat is overgrown?

Possible causes

  • Too thin layer of antifouling paint,
  • Choosing the wrong antifouling to type of a boat or yacht
  • Thinning of antifouling paint,
  • Incorrect surface preparation before antifouling application.

How to prevent

  • Apply the right layer thickness of paint indicated by manufacturer,
  • Choose antifouling dedicated to type of boat or yacht and suitable for the type of water,
  • Do not thin antifouling because of the risk of reducing effectiveness,
  • Careful surface preparations (grinding, clearing, degreasing),

How to remove

  • Wet grinding, apply new layers of antifouling paint.
  • Use C1 shell and fouling remover.

Contamination in topcoat paint?

  • Inaccurate surface cleaning before paint application,
  • Incorrect painting tools preparation (brush and roll),
  • Performing work in a place exposed to constant contact with dust.
